Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko have confirmed the signing of Uganda Under-20 star Joseph Ochaya.

Kotoko reached an agreement with the player’s club Kampala City Council FC with a transfer fee of Shs72m (US$ 30,000) said to be involved.

Ochaya passed a medical at the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday.

He later joined Uganda’s Hippos who played in an African Youth Championship qualifier at the weekend against Ghana and were eliminated following a 3-0 defeat.

“I am ready to don the Kotoko shirt to prove my worth. I am ready for the Kotoko challenge,” Ochaya told the club’s official newspaper.

“I am a man of few words, but I can tell you for sure that I love to compete for everything, because when I win, I feel content with it and am better able to enjoy the fruits of my labour.”

Ochaya becomes the second foreigner to join the Porcupine Warriors this season after the signing of Ivorian Baah Ben Adama.

      @Banku,

      Maxwel Konadu is still the Coach of the only fabulous club until Didi completes his national assignment end of September 2012. In any case, we have a scouting team that scouts for players, the reason we are almost done with our recruitment whilst yaanom are waiting for crumbs.
