Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani mourns Nii Adjei's departure

Posted On Wednesday, 21st November 2012

Kotoko midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei has left to join his new side TP Mazembe

Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani admits Daniel Nii Adjei’s departure is a big loss to his side.

The 24-year-old left the shores of Ghana on Monday to join DR Congo giants TP Mazembe.

Nii Adjei was integral to Kotoko’s surge to Premier League success last season where he also emerged the Most Valuable Player.

The Porcupine Warriors as a result will be participating in the next edition of the CAF Champions League.

And coach Dramani recognizes the adverse effect Nii Adjei’s exit will have on his team though confident of finding a suitable replacement.

“We have a lot of replacements for Nii Adjei but his absence will definitely decrease the strength of his team,” he said.

“This is because of the leadership qualities of Nii Adjei.”

Kotoko resume domestic league duties on Sunday when they travel to take on Tema Youth.

I will advise kotoko not to waste any more money preparing for the caf champs lge with that $800k because it aint worth it if u ii send ur best player away to a team hat is also in the same pool. I understand chelsea selling their players to this same club becuz they are not in the tournament.
