Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramni has described the cancellation of the pre-season GHALCA Top 4 tournament as a good technical decision.
Last season’s league winning coach believes that the organization of the tournament would have affected the preparations of clubs billed to compete.
The tournament was scheduled to run from 01 September and end ten days later which meant clubs would have little rest before the season start on 15 September.
“It is important that every team uses at least four weeks and an additional two to three weeks for practice matches.
“It is when that is achieved a coach could be assured that he has had adequate preparation.
“Though I didn’t voice out, my concern about the Top 4 and the period between it and the start of the league was the shortness of time.
“Everything was going to be done in a rush and clubs wouldn’t have had the chance to fully prepare the pre-season.”
Kotoko would have contested Berekum Chelsea, Medeama and Ebusua Dwarfs in the mini-tournament.
