Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani
Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani admits his side still needs to improve on its striking despite the 2-1 win over Liberty Professionals on Sunday.
A goal in each half by Kofi Nti Boakye and Kwabena Adusei helped the champions to victory at the Accra Sports Stadium in the last fixture of the first round of the Ghanaian top flight.
The win saw Kotoko move up to third on the league standings with 26 points – just four adrift leaders Medeama SC.
And though Dramani hailed his players for their strict adherence to tactics in the win over Liberty, the coach insists the team’s finishing is still substandard.
“I think on the day the team deserved to win by a wider margin,” he said.
“The team had rehearsed the tactics in training and did their best to execute on the field of play.
“The commitment of the players were good only that we need to improve on our scoring.”
The players will now be given some time off as the league goes on break to make way for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
