Asante Kotoko are seeking to sign King Faisal defender Ransford Kwakye as the direct replacement for the departing Kwabena Edusei.

Kwakye emerged one of the star performers for Kotoko’s city rivals in last season’s domestic campaign and has been linked with several clubs in the country.

According to sources close to GHANAsoccernet.com, the champions have made a mouthwatering bid for the youngster and will be meeting with officicials of King Faisal to discuss the offer.

“Coach Didi Dramini is looking to replace Kwabena Adusei and Ransford is his topmost priority,” the source said.

Hearts of Oak, Medeama and several clubs from South Africa are waiting in the wings to pounce once the deal to Kotoko falls through.

The defender who joined King Faisal from Corners FC is rated as one of the best defenders and captained King Faisal a few times last season.
