Kotoko chairman promises to sign strikers in second window

Kotoko to revamp in striking department in the next transfer window

Asante Kotoko chairman Dr K.K Sarpong has promised to sign at least two top notch strikers when the transfer market reopens.

The champions appear to be lacking in the striking department in majority of their games where they have thoroughly dominated.

Kotoko’s problems upfront were vaguely manifested in their disappointing 0-0 draw against arch rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

This deficiency has seen a call made by the club’s supporters for the arrival of a proven goalscorer of which the chairman will duly oblige in the second round.

“I have discussed this with the coach and it appears we have a bit of a problem with our strike force,” Dr Sarpong told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

“I therefore would like to assure the supporters that by the second round, I would have signed two more potent strikers. I believe it will make a lot more difference.

“I am working very hard at that. For those (in the team) who are not clicking will be taken out of the side to make way for the potent strikers.

“This is something that the coach, the board and management will be working on so the fans should be rest assured.”

The Porcupine Warriors have scored only six times in the seven matches played so far in the Ghanaian top flight.

They currently lie 6th ahead of their weekend trip to face Tema Youth.

Oooh I thought they said they have the best players in the league, why are they complaining of an ineffective strike force? NOISY “Red Pharisees”, always complaining when things dont go well for them.

  2. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

DONT MIND THEM. U ARE AS GOOD AS THE PLAYERS U HAVE PLAYING FOR YOU. THE KOTOKO OACH DRAMANI SI GOO, BUT DOES NOT HAVE THE PLAYERS HE NEEDS TO GET THE JOB DONE. THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE PLACED ON THE GENERAL MANAGER KK SARPONG. BRINGING IN NEW STRIKERS IN JAN WONT HELP THE CLUB. IT WILL FURTHER MAKE THINGS WORSE. WHY U ASK?…WELL, FOR A CLUB TO SUCEED, THEY HAVE TO PLAY TOGETHER FOR AT LEAST 2 OR 3SEASONS. LOOK AT WEST BROM, LOOK AT AHLY, LOOK AT ESPERANCE, LOK AT MAN U…CHELASE IS CRUMBLING BECOS THEY HAVE ASSMBLED AN ENTIRELY NEW TEAM WITH THE SAME COACH AND HAS THAT WORKED? NO…..
MAKE DUE WITH WAT U HAVE. TRAIN SOME OF THE PLAYERS TO BE STRIKERS. AND USE THE MONEY U HAVE TO GO AND SCOUT PLAYERS FROM YOUTH COMPETITIONS, INTERNATIONAL SCOUTING FROM OTHER NATIONS IN CAMEROON, SENEGAL, NAIJA, ETC. GO FOR A LOAN AND BUILD A KOTOKO STADIUM. DIVERSIFY UR CLUB’S MONEYMAKING AVENUES BY INVESTING IN NON SOCCER BUSINESSES LIKE KST, MARKETS, REAL ESTATE, CONSTRUCTION ETC…..THIS ISHOW U CAN ASSURE YOURSELF OF INFLOW OF REVENUES AND NOT HAVE TO RELY ON SELLING YOU PLAYERS TO MAKEMONEY. THOSE PLAYERS U HAVE SOLD COULD EASILY HAVE BEEN NURTURED AND STAYED WITH KOTOKO FOR THE CHAMPSLEAGUE. IF KOTOKO WINS, OTHER EUROPEAN NATIONS WITH FAT PURSES WILL BE CHASING YOU FOR THESE PLAYERS. YOU DONT WANT TO INVEST IN YOUR PLAYERS, SO LOOK AT KOTOKO SELLING PLAYERS TO AFRICAN COMPETITORS LIKE MAZEMBE, ETC…TWEAAAA. U SELLTO BIG EURO, ASIAN CLUBS WITH LARGE PURSES, NOT ESPERANCE, MAZEMBE ETC….TWEAAAA

  3. Sergeant says:

Hey phobia birds, cry your own cry! Your club dont even have a CEO and you had the nerves of poking your nose in Kotoko affairs. If you have business ideas preach it to red, yellow and blue.If you believe in youth policy, you wont sign growees like Bra Laryea who is older than coach Duncan.

  4. jon says:

but u bought,,seidu bancey and nurudeen ali with big cash,,,dr kk,,,,u cant fool us oooo,,,,ur days are numbered
