Kotoko captain Michael Akuffo has rubbished allegations of bribery against goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye.

The 33-year-old has become a subject intense debate after media reports suggested he had been influenced to throw their CAF Champions League match away against Liberian side Panthers FC.

However Kotoko captain Michael Akuffo has brushed aside the allegations, describing it as false.

“It’s unfortunate that people can just make things up to tarnish the image of others,” he said

“I don’t think Soulama will ever get involved in bribery. He is a decent man who has the club at heart.

“You know when you are playing for a big club like Kotoko and lose, all sorts of allegations can be thrown at you.

“I am not happy at all because it’s these players whom we expect to win the League title for us.”

Soulama has distanced himself from the allegations, threatening to invoke curses on the speculators.
