Board member Jerry Asare believes Asante Kotoko have turned the corner following their first league win on Sunday.

The champions had drawn all four games prior to the weekend’s 2-0 win over Berekum Arsenals at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The elusive win came at the time of heightened pressure from the fans.

A delighted Asare however believes the win is just the tonic the team needed to steamroll over opponents in upcoming games.

“This begins our winning spree and there was no way we were going to lose the match (against Medeama),” he said.

“I’m excited we have recorded our first victory, our supporters were down having drawn the four opening matches and this victory I must say will motivate us to do more in our subsequent matches.”

Kotoko next travel to Tarkwa to take on leaders Medeama SC.
