Asante Kotoko board member Alhaji Abu Lamine says his side are set to win a third straight First Capital Plus Premier League title after rivals Hearts slipped to a sorry 3-1 defeat to Liberty on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors drew 1-1 at Berekum Chelsea but defeat to Hearts in Dansoman came as a huge relief.

Kotoko are now nine points ahead of their closet challengers with seven matches to the end of the season.

The club’s title winning campaign suffered a jolt after back-to-back defeats to Liberty Professionals and Heart of Lions.

"After Hearts loss to Liberty Professional I can tell you that Kotoko have won the league," Lamin told GHANASoccernet.com

"We are by far the best team in Ghana and our lead at the top tells it all.

"There is no way we are losing this league no way."

Kotoko will next face Bechem United on Sunday in the week 24 fixture.
