Asante Kotoko have eliminated JSM Bejaia

Asante Kotoko recorded a 1-0 win over Sony ela Nguema in Malabo on Sunday to qualify to the next stage of the CAF Champions League.

The Porcupine Warriors wrapped up an 8-0 aggregate win after a 7-0 drubbing in the first leg of their preliminary round qualifier.

Striker Abdul Aziz Yusif scored in the 62nd minute to hand victory for the two-time African champions at the Estadio de Malabo.

Yusif has now two goals in the qualifiers after scoring against the Equatoguinean side at the Baba Yara Stadium two weeks ago.

Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani made six changes to the side that played in the first leg and they did not disappoint.

The Ghanaian champions will now face Algerian side JSM Bejaia in the first qualifying round later this month.

The first leg will be played between the weekend of 15-17 March and return in Kumasi 5–7 April.

Kotoko are making a return to the continent’s flagship event after a four year absence.

      ERASMUS, ARE YOU SURE

Playing Nguema is like a motuary man snipping the shaft of a dead young girl “efun tw3 paaa” bi dat. Remember, Kotoko sold her best players after winning the league. Last week they were almost beaten by Liberty. Wait untill they get into the champions league proper and we’ll know whether they are among the men in the competition or they’re some kind of small boys.

  8. Maxwell Johnson says:

Kotoko fans shouldnt rejoice too soon cuz you guys won against an average team, you’ll now meet your REAL match. Remember North African teams have been your night mares over the yrs, you haven’t won against a North African side in the CCL for over 11 or so yrs now, it remains to be seen if you can reach the group stages or not. I doubt if you can cuz your team is average and doesn’t have what it takes to even win the Confederations Cup lol.

  9. Natty Banton says:

    Maxwell,shut up! Enemy of progress!

  10. momens says:

well done guys for sealing through to de next stage. Be disciplined as a team n u wud go far dis time around.

  11. Fresher says:

@ Maxwell Johnson- Mind your non performing craptacular Hearts of Oaks appalling business, you even have the nauseating guts to rejoice in Hearts of Oaks undeserved draw much more than a Kotoko’s convincing away win. Jealousy go kill you boy.

  12. Don Justy says:

Kotoko is the Deal, Didi Draman is the man, champions league is the job, supporters are d voice, Dr K K Sarpong is the difference. Operation Conquer Africa Code Activated. Evoke the spirit of the Kotoko animal… Yawie…

  13. kimco says:

nguema were poor tho, wait till u have met ur match, which shudn’t be difficult kraa, seeing as u guys aren’t all that. Yes i’m a phobian but i call a spade a spade.
