Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko are set to beat rivals Accra Hearts of Oak to the signature of highly-rated defender Godfred Saka, GHANAsoccernet.com has learnt.

The Porcupine Warriors have reached terms with Aduana Stars - Saka's club, and the 2014 Ghana CHAN full-back is expected to arrive in Kumasi ahead of the proposal move.

Aduana confirmed last week they have received bids from both Hearts and Kotoko but Kotoko seems to have assumed the lead and are set to snap up the former Right to Dream Academy graduate.

Saka is expected in Kumasi over the weekend to begin medicals and put pen on paper early next week to complete a move reportedly worth $70,000.

Aduana initially told both Hearts and Kotoko to cough up $100,000 but Kotoko were able to negotiate with the Fire Club to lower their price down by 30%.

Saka, 24, has been pushing to leave Aduana for a new adventure after four seasons with the club.

Kotoko are also looking to wrap up the signing of former Feyenoord midfielder Mark Sekyere from Ivorian side ASEC Mimosa.

Sekyere enjoyed a single season spell at Kotoko before leaving for the Ivory Coast three seasons ago.
