Kotoko announce defender Frimpong's exit

Posted On Monday, 15th October 2012

Yaw Frimpong is set to join TP Mazembe

Asante Kotoko chairman Dr. K.K Sarpong has confirmed the imminent departure of defender Yaw Frimpong.

The 25-year-old is set to join TP Mazembe after the DR Congo giants made an offer to Kotoko last month for his services.

Frimpong’sĀ sale to Mazembe will follow the planned sale of midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei to the African Champions League campaigners.

It is however unclear when the right-back will leave the Ghana Premier League champions but Dr.SarpongĀ confirms a move is on the cards.

“Yaw Frimpong will also leave to hold medicals (at TP Mazembe) on a later date,” Sarpong said.

Frimpong joined Asante Kotoko from Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy three seasons ago.

Go ahead and sell the geese that lays those golden eggs for the club, don’t think of blaming anyone for the club’s eventual slump in performance but yourselves and your excessive greed.

  2. Yaw says:

This K.K. Sarpong Management is the worst I have ever seen in several years. Instead of building, he is destroying. You,your wife and children will watch the matches at stadium.

  3. quophai says:

Ah, what at all is this? First Awal, then, Nii Adjei, then Frimpong? and Kotoko wants to make an impact in Africa? Look at the kind of strikers we have in Kotoko, are they the materials going to play the champions league? I watch them over and over again and i laugh. Its either the leadership are seeing something different or they are just blind. KK, it doesn’t matter the nice english you can speak or the great plans you have, in Kotoko, its about delivery and performance. You were at Len Clay yesterday, is this the team you and your team have promised to deliver in Africa? You are funny…

  4. Dr Who says:

We should forget about Africa & rather concentrate on the local league because Dr KK is not serious. He is destroying the team he built.

  5. Yankeeman says:

Kk sarpong is destroying Kotoko with his style of management, how can you always selling your best players and promising heavens to decieve the suporters.

  6. city says:

How do you conquer Africa when you sell your good materials to your competitors kk? business looks good abi?

    BEWARE!!!

  7. Jak says:

I don’t blame Dr sarpong, becos he used to say he no natin about football before,he became asfc chairman, and de defence s jxt negative zero.

  8. KT says:

Wow. How can you guys blame Dr. Sarpong? He is a businessman who came in to make profit, not losses. Moreover, if he doesn’t let them go, he will be termed as a bad person who doesn’t want them to progress, and the players will lose confidence. We are all to blame.

  9. skilful says:

so folks, if Kotoko is drawn against T.P Mazembe in nxt yr’s CAF champions leaque eliminator,do u xpet to beat dem. mgt may be joking.

  10. @paaquasy says:

    K. K. Sarpong is sorry to say making very stupid decisions so hastefully….Kwasiasem akwa! Awal, Nii Adjei, Nat Asamoah, Toure even Bekoe and now Frimpong. My heart weeps for my beloved Asante Kotoko!
