Kotoko and Hearts clash in Top-4 cracker on Sept 15

Kotoko and Hearts will clash on September 15 in the GHALCA Top-4

Kotoko will play Hearts in the top of the bill clash in the 2012 GHALCA Top-4 on September 15.

The two heavyweights will lock horns at the Baba Yara stadium in the first leg of the  prestigious pre-season tournament after being drawn  in group A.

Coaches of the two teams will use the encounter to assess their readiness for the upcoming season while looking at the prospect of their new signings and those on the fringes.

The game will attact numbers to the Garden City after both clubs bought some quality players to their ranks.

Kotoko will parade some of their new stars  including striking trio Eric Bekoe, Ransford Osei and Seidu Bancy as well as defender Rashid Sumaila.

Hearts coach CK Akunnor will also unleash an attacking machine force which comprises of Gilbert Fiamenyo and Richard Addai.

Ex-Ghana Under-17 star Emmanuel Ansong and Seth Owusu are some of the high-profile signings that will thrill fans in Kumasi.

The other group B game will see Medeama take on Ashantigold at the Tarkwa and Aboso Park.

The return leg  will take place on Septmeber 19.

The winner of the Hearts-Kotoko game over the two legged-tie will battle the loser of the Medeama-Ashantigold game while the loser of group A will battle the loser of group B.

The games will take place place on September 23.

The winners of the two games will will play in the final on September 26.

The top-four competition, originally designed to serve as a platform for teams to prepare for the season as well reaping in revenue, has rather lost its spark with enormous complains of unpaid monies.

But organzers are determined to revive the competition and give true meaning to it original plan.
