Kotoko AFCON goalkeeper Soulama to rejoin squad for Champions League

Asante Kotoko are expecting Burkina Faso’s Africa Cup of Nations goalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama for this weekend’s CAF Champions League preliminary round qualifier.

Soulama, who played a cameo in the Stallions’ historic silver medal winning feat, should be available for Friday’s training.

But the technical team will decide if he will play a role in Sunday’s encounter against Sony Nguema of Equatorial Guinea at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Soulama was the club’s first choice gloves man before leaving for the tournament in South Africa.

He picked up a red card in Burkina Faso’s second Group D match against Ethiopia and lost his place to Daouda Diakite.

Soulama lost his father when he was at the Nations Cup.
