Asante Kotoko utility player Yahaya Mohammed is not getting bogged down by poor finishing despite missing glorious chances to open his season’s account against Hearts of Oak.
The 25-year-old was named Man of the Match in Sunday’s victory over Hearts at the Accra Sports Stadium primarily for his impressive link up play.
Last season’s loanee at Amidau Professionals however missed absolute sitters to get onto the score-sheet for Kotoko on Sunday as his goal drought continues.
Mohammed’s wastefulness has come as a shock to many after raking in 11 goals last season.
But the dread-locked forward believes it is only a matter of time for him to regain his magic touch in front of goal again.
“As a footballer, I cannot get a goal in every match so if I missed this chance it doesn’t mean I cannot get goals again,” he said.
“So next time I will be tactically disciplined to get the goals.”
