Kofi Abanga still owes Kotoko after refusing to sign for them five years ago

Kofi Abanga may have swerved Kotoko to sign for Hearts in 2007, but the troubled midfielder still owes the champions 6 thousand Ghana cedis.

Abanga was embroiled in arguably the most protracted transfer saga in the history of Ghana Football when he swerved Kotoko to sign for rivals Hearts at the eleventh hour.

Kotoko agreed with Aduana Stars for the services of the player and paid him 10 thousand Ghana Cedis.

Hearts agreed to re-pay Kotoko but have since paid only 40% of the amount and yet to settle the outsanding fee.

Abanga has seen his career taken a nosedive with series of knee injuries that has blighted what was expected to be a promising career.

The 19-year-old has slapped in a transfer request as he seeks to put his career back on track.
