Ghanaian attacker Kingsley Boateng feels he is prepared to lead Bari to face Catania in the Italian Serie B after scoring his debut goal against Modena on Saturday.

The 20-year-old grabbed his first goal in Bari colours as he struck the match-winner with a signature finish in the 24th minute at the Stadio Alberto Braglia as Bari won their second straight game.

"I'm happy for my first goal with Bari," he said.

"I have finalized an action well played and not created by accident. This week, in fact, we train to perform righteous movements that the coach asks us.

If we see something negative is the lack of wickedness that would allow us to close the game and not take risks. To me is lack of malice and lucidity when I found myself face to face with the goalkeeper modenese, I shock him instead sensed the shot".

Boateng joined Bari after AC Milan ended his loanee spell with Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda during the winter transfer.

Bari's game against Catania will be a key for Boateng who will be facing the club who first handed him a competitive Serie A debut two seasons ago when he joined them as a loanee from Milan.
