King Faisal president Alhaji Karim Gruzah is worried about the alarming drop-off in crowd in the Ghanaian top-flight.

The out-spoken football administrator blamed the local media for over hyping the European Leagues at the expense of the domestic League.

Alhaji Gruzah is worried about the low attendance at match venues which he believes has contributed to crippling the clubs financially.

“The situation has not been any better from the previous years and does not speak well of our Premier League,” he told Kumasi based Bohye Fm

“We don’t seem to be doing things right in the organization of our league. Apart from quite substantial amounts generated from our matches with Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, our biggest gate proceed has been GHc300.00 generated from our game with Dwarfs. Against Hasaacas, our net gain was GHc80.00.

“As we speak today, people would prefer to sit behind their TV sets and patronize a match between Chelsea and Manchester United at the expense of a Kotoko-Hearts of Oak match. That is how far we have come.

“ I cannot leave the media out of the blame but generally I think we must put our house in order.

“We have to undertake a comprehensive review of the whole situation as stakeholders at the end of the season and see how best we can improve on things.”
