King Faisal owner blasts referee decisions despite win

Posted On Monday, 22nd October 2012

Alhaji Karim Grunzah was furious with the performance of referee Adzoku

By Patrick Akoto

A furious King Faisal owner Alhaji Karim Grunzah railed against  referee Sylvester Adzoku despite their 1-0 win over Amidaus Professionals.

Midfielder Sulley Mohammed scored the only goal of the match in the 73rd minute to claim the maximum points at the Tema sports stadium.

It was Faisal’s first win of the season but their bankroller was incensed with the level of officiating and launched a scathing attack on the centre-man describing him as a big ‘fool’.

“I don’t want to comment on the performance of this referee. He is an apology of referees in Ghana,” Grunzah said

“The officiating was very bad and if he continues like this, he will not go anywhere.

“We lost at home to Tema Youth the time but referee Theresa Bremansu was superb. In fact she scored 99.9%.

“But this referee is a foolish referee. I will say it again he is a big fool who do not deserve to officiate matches in the top flight.

“The referees’ appointment committee should watch out.”

The weekend’s Premier League matches were charaterised by fans agitations towards officials with Alex Akugre, Sumaila Ibrahim and Yaw Ametepey coming in for lots of flak.

I think it is improper for the Alhaji to call someone’s father a fool. In fact the GFA should start sanctioning those who either abuse or attack referees. All they can do is say if the referee was fair, good or not but calling him a fool is illiteracy at its highest peak.

    Come Again Alhajil
