Alhaji Karim Grusah, founder of Kumasi-based King Faisal Football Club, has been granted bail after he was arrested by the Airport Police in Accra for allegedly slapping a flight dispatcher working with domestic airline Antrak Air.
Grusah is alleged to have assaulted the flight dispatcher on Sunday when asked to put off his mobile phone when he gets onboard the Kumasi-bound flight: Alhaji Grunsah was on phone while boarding the flight and was accordingly offered the advice but got offended.
After several unsuccessful attempts to get him off the flight after he has forced his way into it, police reinforcement was called in to take him into custody.
DSP Freeman Tettey with the Police Public Affairs directorate told Joy News Alhaji Grunsah has been granted a police enquiry bail.
"He has actually been granted police enquiry bail to report Monday at 2pm. The offence of assault and battery is a bailable offence," he said.
DSP Freeman Tettey added that, "investigation continues and the conclusion of our investigation will inform our next line of action."
Meanwhile, Kwaku Antwi-Bosiako, the Chief Commercial Officer of Antrak Air has told Joy News Alhaji Grunsah would be banned from boarding any of their flights in future.
"Until further notice, Alhaji Grunsah is barred from flying with Antrak Air. We will not accept him on any of our flights," he said.
