Schalke boss Roberto Di Matteo will subject Kevin-Prince Boateng to a late fitness test before adding him to his matchday squad for Tuesdayââ¬â¢s Champions League clash against Sporting Lisbon.
The Ghana forward suffered a knock in Saturdayââ¬â¢s derby win over Hertha Berlin.
Boateng alongside Joel Matip are said to be the players carrying slight injuries going into Tuesdayââ¬â¢s clash.
The duo will thus be made to past a late fitness test to stand any chance of facing Sporting.
New boss Roberto Di Matteo wants to keep his side fresh but is also mindful of the clubââ¬â¢s ambitions to secure progress in the Champions League.
And with the two players considered key to Schalkeââ¬â¢s progress, Di Matteo is left with a hard decision to take a few hours before naming his squad for the game tonight.
