Kevin-Prince Boateng gives different reason on why he was sacked from Ghana's World Cup camp

Kevin-Prince Boateng

Kevin-Prince Boateng

Midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has given a different account of what led to his expulsion from Ghana’s World Cup camp.

The Germany-born claims he was made the scapegoat for questioning the Ghana Football Association president about the whereabouts of FIFA’s US$ 1m given to finalists to prepare for the tournament.

But his suspension letter said: “The decision was taken following Boateng’s vulgar verbal insults targeted at coach Kwesi Appiah during the team’s training session in Maceio this week.”

In his latest interview with Sky Sport Italia on Sunday evening, the Schalke 04 did not mention head coach Kwesi Appiah used the F-word on him.

“I was in a game between ranks and turned to Muntari, asking him if he was the referee. The Coach thought I was talking to him and that I’d said something offensive,” Boateng said.

“At that point, he started insulting me in front of everyone, despite the fact both I and Sulley had tried to explain the situation. All the other players heard.

“I think Appiah had a problem with me and was only looking for a reason to send me away. To be honest, I was thrown out.

“Why did he send me away on Thursday if the incident in question happened the previous Sunday? I can’t explain it. If I’d really done something wrong, why not take action on Monday?

“I think it is really because I met with the President of the GFA for 20 minutes and asked where the money from FIFA had gone.

“Everyone seems to think we live the high life. Obviously we are honoured to play for the National team, but the way we travel and our hotels… I don’t think they’re spending money for our journeys.

“I simply wanted to know where the money given to us by FIFA was going. If you look at the other teams, they can bring their families along, but for us it was a horrible experience.

“This is why we went out, as we only earned one point and it was impossible to do better in those circumstances.”

Boateng and his former AC Milan teammate Sulley Muntari were sacked hours before Ghana’s final Group G match against Portugal.

Remember, people from the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions are notorious for their imaginative lies to garner sympathy for themselves. Akwesi Appiah is not an exception. He was given a job he does not qualifiy for and became a national disgrace and a flop, so what does he do? apply a tactic he has been using since childhood, creating lies against others to divert attention from his abysmal performance.

People do not get crazy all of a sudden, he Akwesi Appiah must have felt inferior to KPB and just needed to get rid of his imposing presence to feel in control again. You see KPB was asking questions the other hypocrytic players were not asking. The Black Stars selection was filled with sycophants and that was intentional by the GFA and Akwesi Appiah. KPB and Sulley Muntari were not going to be manipulated and that did not sit well with them, asking intrusive questions of the officials were making them unconfortable.

Rational beings should reserve judgement before bashing KPB and Muntari.

“Remember, people from the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions are notorious” Obviously you are not Akan. If you are Ewe, GA or whatever, are saying that if you look around, your people are honest? Your premise is full of it so you need to go and take a deep shit. As far as I am concerned, what follows in your report is garbage!

WHERE IS FATAU DAUDA?NORMALY HE IS ALWAYS ON THE ROAD GIVEN COMMENTS:::FATAU DAUDA ; BOYE COST ;AA ;AND THE REST OF GFA COST US THIS WORLD CUP:::::

  3. Blow says:

That’s why he is the FA President, Manager, Secretary and spokesman of the Black Stars. They say if you want to be a millionaire, you work with millionaires. Why was Akwasi cha cha Appiah’s contract hurriedly extended when the real litmus test was his performance at the World Cup? the answer is simple, fire me and you pay me my entitlements. Those FA and Sports ministry hung-ons who crowded the players hotel are a disgrace to Mother Ghana and the least said about them the better.

AA should step aside allow us to probe this Ghana Brazil 2014 fiasco. It’s time for experienced European coach with reputation for success and turning things around.

Below is Prince Boateng’s full side of the story.

Kevin Prince Boateng has called the entire Black Stars World Cup campaign in Brazil “amateurish” in his first full interview since being sent home from the tournament.
In a no holds barred interview with German news outlet Bild,Boateng revealed the circumstances that led to the deterioration of order in the Black Stars camp and also denied ever being rude to Kwasi Appiah.
“I am very, very disappointed. It just wasn’t a good time.
The nightmare lasted from the first day of the preparations until the very end.
I would never have thought that the preparations and the World Cup itself could be so badly organized. The hotels, the flights – everything was amateurish.
We flew from our first training camp in Amsterdam to Miami. But we flew in two groups, because apparently there wasn’t enough space for all of us. One group went via Atlanta, the other one via New York. We sat at the airport for nine hours and the whole trip was 19 hours. And…
The flight from Miami to Brazil a week later was 12 hours. We flew economy class, all cramped. The legs hurt. It may sound weird for normal people, but for professional sportsmen it’s an impertinence.
Our president [GFA president], his wife and his two kids sat in business class on the same flight. In Brazil we finally got a chartered flight. But then the officials managed to lose my luggage somehow. I didn’t have my football boots for some days, no tapes, nothing. It was disastrous.
The only hotel were we could really prepare in was the one in Miami. We moved in there after we complained because the players didn’t want to stay at the other one.
Boateng also told Bild the team’s accommodation before the 2-1 loss to USA was less than satisfactory.
“Before the first WC game against USA we slept at a hotel, I call it a fleabag, which was definitely not recommended by FIFA. There was a severe water damage, the rooms were wet. I had to change rooms, my room had turned into a private swimming-pool because of the water dripping from the ceiling. ”
The Schalke star also laid into coach Kwesi Appiah, revealing he had been led to believe he would have a starring role with the team and was surprised to sit out Ghana’s opening game.
“Very surprised. It was him who kept talking about me as the leader and who had declared his confidence in me. I have never had a problem with him and I have always behaved positively. But if somebody asked me whether he is a good coach… No.
No. But I respect him as a person, like I respect everyone. I have always accepted and respected all decision that he made. I’m just wondering why he begged me to play for Ghana when I was still at AC Milan. Then I make a comeback and suddenly I’m not playing anymore. The president was at one of these talks as well. He gave me his word that we were going to have better travel, better organization and better preparation. He didn’t keep the promise. In the end I was just dissatisfied.
On the issue of bonuses which sparked an international media frenzy,Boateng said it was the least of the team’s problems during the World Cup.
“No. That has become part of it and it’s nearly normal. That was the smallest problem. But everything kept stacking up over the whole month. It was catastrophic. The practice conditions, sleeping conditions, everything. I just wonder where all the money goes.
The GFA makes so much money from sponsors, through FIFA. And it’s certainly not spent on hotels, flights, the squad and the preparations. ”
Boateng also spoke of the poor team spirit that existed among the playing” bodies and accused some of his team mates of being hypocrites.
“No. It wasn’t a real team. Everyone was occupied with himself, everyone was talking bad about each other. There were two or three players who were happy about Sulley Muntari’s and my suspension. And those players exactly had told me that I was right about everything. Everyone knows that I have never insulted the coach. But they spoke against Sulley and me in front of him.
But still, the GFA released a statement saying that you have insulted the coach. People started saying that Boateng couldn’t control himself once again.
I don’t care about that at all. I’m very relaxed because I know for a fact that I have not done anything like that. ”
No human being is perfect. But again: No. I have just stated my opinion. There was no player who was happy. We had a perceived 100 meetings with the delegation. We told them that there are countless things that need to be changed. That’s why I’m an easy prey. ”
Boateng also said he was an easy scape goat to have because he always spoke his mind on issues and this did not go down well with officials whilst also explaining his side of the story in the incident that led to him being kicked out.
“Because I said to their faces that they are liars who permanently make promises that they never keep. We were lied to constantly.
Like I have said before: Sulley and I were joking around at practice. The coach stopped, we said everything was OK. Suddenly I had to go to the locker room. Later I asked the coach whether he had something against me. He shouted at me and insulted me, for example by saying “Fuck off”. Due to the rush there was a mix-up with dates. The incident happened four days before my suspension.
If I had insulted the coach back then, why was I suspended much later on Thursday?
“On Wednesday there was another meeting with the delegation. That’s when I told the officials that they were lying to us, that they were making hollow promises. Four days after the incident at practice and a day after the meeting I found a white piece of paper under my door, saying I was suspended. I think everyone knows the reason. The president just turned the tables.
There’s no need to. They have basically thrown me out. I love the country and the people. But under circumstances like this it’s hard for any sportsman to carry on. I will go on holidays right now and I’ll return to Schalke with full force in mid-July. I’ll take it from there.”

He has nothing wrong with the coach in fact he told the coach that I didnt said anything against you that ment first apology. Kwesi Appiah is nothing but a piece of mother fucker and a bomb. Whoever surport this usele coach our gods of the land shall not forgive you. Ghana spent millions of dollars for Appiah to study a game of football sent him to Man city to study of these he failes Ghanains. I can strongly stand in front of him and give him dirty slap three times in the face and tell him an asshole. He should be ashame of himself. When Coach Appiah was a player didnt he did the samething in Senegale 1992? by fucking around when they gave hand band to Abedi Ayew pele? He was fucking around. Poor coach with shamele human. i blame akwesi appiah 4 all of this shit, going 2 AC Milan 2 beg this idiot 2 come back,n promising him a leadership role, the guy didn’t want 2 play 4 ghana like we all said from the beginning, but stupid akwesi appiah, dropping more dedicated players 4 this bastard,AKWESI APPIAH NEEDS 2 BE SACKED WITH THE GFA MEMBERS 4 DISGRACING GHANA,we could have have won all 3 group games, but thanks 2 these beggers we r the joke of the world cup,NOW LETS GIVE THE JOB 2 SELLAS TETTAH,A REAL COACH WHO GOT BALLS LIKE STEPHEN KESHIE

    • OGYA says:

b4world, you should have looked at the video before you wrote this comment. Your anger should have been directed at JOHN BOYE. As much as I stated that may be Kwarasey is not for the Black Stars, its that buffoon BOYE who is the cause of that goal. If he had cleared the ball instead of kissing a pile of money we would not have conceded that goal.

Secondly, Blame your mongoose coach, the peanut brain from Brong Ahafo, that cream puff should have at least brought in Mensah and Vorsah to our bench for security and height and brought them in after half time of every game if he felt they were not fit. Schlupp could have been fine at right back freeing Kwadjo Asamoah to the midfield and lastly Accam for that annoying striker Jordan Ayew who is another twerp that should have never been in the Black Stars to begin with.

I agree with you totally on the last part of your comment with the exception of Muntari and KPB. Don’t draw conclusions before you hear their side of the story. As for Muntari is concerned, it has been said by others that he questioned why there were too many officials in the camp more than the playing body. And as you know in our Ghanaian mentality, our grown ups always feel they are entitled to respect just because of age and so they do not take such questioning well.

Remember, people from the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions are notorious for their imaginative lies to garner sympathy for themselves. Akwesi Appiah is not exception. He was given a job he does not qualified for and became a national disgrace and a flop, so what does he do? apply a tactic he is so familiar and grown up with, be creative to divert attention from his abysmal performance unto others as being the reason for his failure by inflating the so called insult on him by KPB.

People do not get crazy all of a sudden, he Akwesi Appiah must have felt inferior to KPB and just needed to get rid of his imposing presence to feel in control again.

I know you a rational person and an intelligent one, gather all the facts before rendering judgement on KPB and Muntari.

Stupid gfa leaders coaches and govt. They will have their day. Corrupt animals.

  10. Plance says:

I hate it when comments on this site are all about insults. I wonder if there is an editor at all who previews these comments before they are made public.lets make our points to the issues and respect each others views. Back to the facts. As an individual, I feel we as a country failed woefully. The players deserve better. As for the coach, is time he steps down! We need a white coach, period!! Now is not the time to be experimenting. GFA must be looked into. Is about time in this country, leaders stop taking us for granted!!! We deserve better

  11. Bostonman redsox says:

What views? Criminal corrupt views? We will get them someday.

  12. Assemblyman says:

Whoever had posted this article must be serving his pay masters GFA right. But whenever there is truth regardless how thick darkness of lies must be,the truth will always shine brightly. This guy who posted the article edited a lot and misinterpretated this statement to suit the GFA boss and Kwesi Appiah.Yes! I know this fact that Kwesi Appiah used the F word on Kevin.i am here in Brazil and still are,the team left.the night before they left ,they actually were sweating to find reasons and lies to support their poor permances and injustly sacking kevin Boateng and sulley from camp.I said all these things here before it started to spread like wild fire ..corruption !! Corruption and exploitations !! Kwesi nyaatwum Nyantakyi.this man is a worse ever sports manager in the whole world. How can he say had spent $9 million american beautiful money on just 2 preparation matches?ah!well! Our president is in support of corruption else there’s no need for committees..what has committees done for Ghana since days of Adam and Eve ?except creating jobs for some idle party members to go drink tea on the nations account? Pure unrefined bastards !!!
I think if they want fairness they should make Nyantakyi resign with an immediate effect .the dumb coach who always gives frenzy excuses at each interview before and after our matches should also step down..I used to respect the man a lot but you guys will be wrong to think he is innocent all because he is the quiet type..most people like that carry bad minds..
I think EOCO there in Ghana should probe everyone from A-Z.Yes! Everybody including the NDC foot soldiers who got stuck at Madaras hotel to those so-called prostitutesadors, each player and management member.else this problem will be a cancer eating deep in the woes of GFA and Ghana football for good.thus,if the truth is not dug out and problem solved.i still laugh at the coach ,he better resign from his job.no wonder his captaincy was given to abedi pele during those days,.because if this man talks you only find it funny to comprehend. As old as I am and looking at his age,the man doesn’t have any common sense, all his speeches are just rubbish .how does he even think of continuing the job whiles he has unsolvable issues with the players.ahh! Well!
My advise to this guy from the forum who calls himself “The greatest”.you are wondering whether I know Accra to even make it Brazil .The last time you were insulting me for giving my honest comments from here in Brazil .had this forum supported photo sharing or even us forumites able to see our photos .am sure you will realize the big differences between you and me.I believe my dogs in Europe even has dignity than you. When people like myself started making life for ourselves ,most at your ages were not born. For me,no one pay me over anything to talk and defend them in forums ..because I won’t support bulls shits, lies and corrupt malpractices. But if your interest in supporting either Kwesi Appiah or Kwesi Nyantakyi is because they are your family relations or personal friends.well, advise them to step down whiles they have some dignity left.as you can see, they are not enjoying support from the Ghanaian public.

  13. shieava says:

AA should step aside allow us to probe this Ghana Brazil 2014 fiasco

Master just go and sit home; don’t even get close to the Accra Sports Stadium, left alone the GFA building. The first Ghanaian coach to the World Cup and this is what you give us!Ghana is bigger than “try and error” coach Dr, AA, by putting square pegs in round holes. All these problems would not have cropped up if we have a good coach who knows how to manage egos and do the right selections. Still don’t have first 11 players since time immemorial…last year AFCON messed up..this year World just blown it..

  15. A concerned citizen says:

Still don’t have first 11 players since time immemorial…last year AFCON messed up..this year World just blown it..Appiah’s award should be “first time black stars failed at group stage” award..yet he has the guts to vow to stay because he is looking at his pocket?? Silent killer instincts still working on some players. How can they excel? A coach who sees a bench warmer as the best goalkeeper..who sees a player maker as the best defender…who sees a rough tackler as the best midfielder…Why everything opposite direction …in other words he sees black as white and white as black..How come you went to war and you left out your best guns and started with “Ate abr3fr3″ first..so when geatstoughbefore you come back to take your best guns?..youmust have been killed..this was what happened in Ghana vs U.S.A

  16. Assisi says:

Nyantakyi is too known and think everything he and gfa throws at players should be accepted. For Christ sake, the players are humans and professionals wanting to help and promote their country and yet you treat them so bad – giving them poor accomodation, not spending money that fifa has given to improve their living conditions and yet when they question that they are thrown out.

For Kwasi Nyantakyi’s information, we want you out now. We are not from your cocoon village. Understood?

  17. Assisi says:

Gone are the days of insubordination when a coach / board could treat players or staff as they wish. Boateng and Muntari I support and salute you fully and we will make sure Kwasia Appiah and Nyantakyi wiould be kicked out. That is the cost of employing local coaches (puppets) to run our country’s football. We are bringing an expatriate to take over the country’s football soon. We don’t mind if is Marcel Desailly or another European coach but we dont want the likes of Kwasi Appiah who is a puppet to Nyantakyi and he’s scared of saying the right thing to Nyantakyi when he is corrupting our footballers and the nation. Idiot he is. Fuck him 10x.

  18. john akpa says:

I have a feeling there is going to be sackings at the GFA when the President gets going. The coach and his staff would probably be sacked too unless they do well in the AFCON. I was not with the players to know who is telling the truth. Prince or Kwesi Appiah.

  19. PITO says:

I myself and many other Ghanaians will find it difficult to comprehend why the nation will go and beg players like Essien, Kevin and Andre Ayew to return if not for the immense quality they bring to the team. Ask yourselves in all honesty whether we will go begging players like Albert Adomah, Mubarak Wakasu and Rabiu to return if they quit the BLackstars RIGHT NOW? I mean right now as things stand.. I don’t think so. WHY? Because as it stands RIGHT NOW their quality is not CRUCIAL to the performance of the team! Yet A.A being a gambler coach has played ” Cha-Cha” with the team selection for so long to the point where we the fans are confused, The players are confused and He HIMSELF is now Confused. Hahahaa. ouch!
3 years since milovan Rajevac left let us ask A.A : Who is our first choice goal keeper, Fatau or Kwarasey? Who is our left back? kissi Boateng or Baba Rahman or Opare or Afful or Schlup or Kwadwo Asamoah? who is our right midfielder? Solomon Asante or Albert Adomah or christian atsu or kevin prince Boateng or Jordan Ayew or Andre Ayew?
I tell you plain plain! A.A is a gambler he believes in lucky spells and not quality! Maybe because he himself did not get to play international football in his career so he fails to conceive the pertinent essence of Amazing quality or sub-par quality.
He is a very polygamous man and we all know confusion will never leave the home of an overly polygamous person.
AKWASI “CHA-CHA” Appiah and whoever is maintaining him is the source of all the confusion.

Why do we need 100 officials following our team to BRazil? why bring celebrities along? Throwing Parties around the players and doing NTWID3 whilst our players look on and you expect them not to boil over?

ps: I suspect the owner of GSN has his mouth muzzled with some of the dollars that was flown to brazil. aww mother Ghana. no one sacrifices.

They fail us, they don’t have patients to manage players. Players are like wife and children, u need to have patients to take care of them .

Banger what do u know abt football? Am asking u dis question becoz, 1. Akwasi Appiah’s tactis is reli bad. 2. He cant even control his backroom staff. 3. As a coach u have to have another plan if u are loosing, akwasi lacks it. His substitution is bad. I dont want to talk much. He shouldn’t even cam here, he should resign earlier
