Schalke midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has encouraged his former club AC Milan to keep fighting despite their 1-0 defeat at Udinese.

Captain Antonio Di Natale scored the only goal for the Fruili side as they inflicted the painful win over Milan.

The hosts' goal came after the break with Di Natale tucking home from close range after quick passes from Roberto Pereyra and Bruno Fernandes.

Scuffet again denied Milan, saving from Michael Essien's header, which had eluded the lunging Mario Balotelli.

The 27-year-old Ghanaian international wanted to feel his closeness to former teammates with a tweet of encouragement. "Come on ... come on Milan suuuu!" Boateng tweeted

It was a third defeat in Clarence Seedorf's eight Serie A games in charge of the club.

Udinese, in 14th, are now only four points behind 11th-placed Milan.
