Crocked Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng could return to face Eintracht Braunschweig in the German Bundesliga over the weekend, according to reports in the German media.
The 26-year-old is in Munich treating a problematic knee injury which has ruled him out of Ghana’s 2014 World Cup qualifying play-off first-leg against Egypt.
Schalke boss Jens Keller is already sweating on the persistent injuries to his key players with Dutch forward Klass-Jean Hunterlaar also missing with injuries.
Since joining the Gelsenkirchen side from European giants AC Milan, the former German youth international has bagged four goals in all competitions for the club and his unavailability to poses new problems for Keller.
However, reports emerging from Munich reveal Boateng is undergoing therapy and could be fit in time for Schalke’s visit to Eintracht Braunschweig in the German Bundeliga on October 19.
Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has sympathised with Boateng’s recurrent injuries and has called for calm over the controversy of his absence from international duty.
