Kevin Boateng labels El Shaarawy as next Ibrahimovic

Posted On Monday, 31st December 2012

Kevin Boateng has tagged the young Italian as new Ibrahimovic

AC Milan star Kevin-Prince Boateng has branded Stephan El Shaarawy as the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the San Siro.

The 20-year-old has been a revelation for the Rossoneris since the departure of hit-man Ibrahimovic to French side Paris Saint-Germain in July.

The Italy international has scored 14 goals in 17 Serie A appearances this season and Kevin Boateng who has been struggling to pick up his form believes Shaarawy is the new Ibrahimovic for Milan.

“We almost have a new Ibrahimovic”, he told German daily Die Welt.

“If El Shaarawy continues as he is now, he is [a new Ibrahimovic] without doubt.”

Concerning Milan’s poor form in the Serie A the former German youth international insists his side are working to improve on their status in the Italian top flight.

“We have improved a lot”, said Boateng.

“But we can achieve even more.”

Instead of “annointing” people, Mr. Boateng better focus on himself. Milan is close to kicking him to the street based on his weak showing lately.
