Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew says his Black Stars teammate and friend Kevin-Prince Boateng is gutted by the prospect of not playing in the crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Egypt.
The Schalke star remains doubtful for the October 15 clash against the Pharaohs due to an injury he picked up in the weekend’s 4-1 win over Augsburg in the German top flight.
The degree of the injury remains uncertain as some Ghanaians keep a glimmer of hope to have the attacking midfielder available for the crucial match in Kumasi.
The ex AC Milan star’s friend and national teammate Andre Ayew says the German-born Ghanaian is equally disappointed to the prospect of missing the first leg of the crucial 2014 World Cup playoff.
“He is injured and he is disappointed not to be able to maybe make it,” Ayew said.
“He was looking forward to this game but unfortunately he is injured.
“We pray he gets better and if he does he will play for us again.”
