AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng believes his leadership qualities will prove crucial to the side this season.

Milan have played catch-ups to Juventus for the past two seasons and are determined to reclaim the title from the Old Ladies.

The Ghanaian international whose future was a matter of intense conjecture looks set to see out his contract and will be deeply involved for the Rossoneri this term.

The 25-year-old regarded as one of the key pillars in the locker room expects some of the old hands to propel the team to success.

"I am a player who needs responsibility on and off the field . Being one of the leaders of the team is something that is close to my heart and I think I can take on this role without any problems,” Boateng said

“In the current squad there are not many players who have spent so much time at Milan.

“It is also why they are considered as one of the leaders of the locker room.

“Together with others like Cristian Abbiati, Riccardo Montolivo or Nigel De Jong let's put our expertise to the team in order to help a group that has within it many young people. "

Boateng will be key to Milan title ambitions this season.
