Kevin-Prince Boateng is hoping Schalke can pull together to qualify to the quarter-finals of the Champions League at the expense of Real Madrid.

The German side have drawn the record holders at the round of 16 after Monday’s draw.

The Royal Blues knew they would be handed a difficult tie after finishing second in their group, but they can look forward to welcoming the merengues to Gelsenkirchen aware that their opponents have not won on German soil since 2000.

They're going to be really nice, emotional games. Real Madrid are one of the best teams in the world,” Boateng said

“Even though it's going to be very difficult, if we all pull together and in the same direction, then we always have a chance over two games.”
