Starlet Kenneth Okoro continued his exciting pre-season form by netting for Hearts of Oak in their 2-0 victory over Ghanaian Division One side Pure Joy FC at the Tema Park on Sunday.

The young striker wrapped up the win for Herbert Addo's men with a stunning close range finish in the 65th minute after bulky forward Gilbert Fiamenyo had opened the scoring on the hour mark.

Okoro, scouted by former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah, has hit a rich vein of form for the Phobians as he has scored in their last two pre-season friendlies.

Herbert Addo named trial duo Vincent Atinga and Atia Sumaila in his line-up that also featured Emmanuel Hayford and Winful Cobbinah.

South African Mason October and Ivorian Robin Gnagne were both dropped to the bench while young goalkeeper Kingsley Kissi held down his first choice gloves.

The Phobians were unable to breakdown a resolute Pure Joy defence in the entire first 45 minutes. Addo, keen on assessing the degree of improvement in his squad kept faith in his starters and used them for the second-half.

His decision earned results when Gilbert Fiamenyo headed home a Winfful Cobbinah delightful cross in the 60th minute.

Okoro topped up the scoring five minutes later.
