Juventus duo first to report to Ghana camp for China friendly

Posted On Monday, 13th August 2012

Kwadwo Asamoah scored for Juventus in their 2012 Italian Super Cup victory

Kwadwo Asamoah and Richmond Boakye-Yiadom were the first to arrive in Ghana’s camp for Wednesday’s friendly against China.

The duo were with the Juventus squad which beat Napoli 4-2 to lift the 2012 Italian Super Cup on Saturday night.

Asamoah was influential in the Cup match and scored a superb volley which helped the Biaconneri to victory.

Teenage striker Boakye-Yiadom was not the bench for Old Ladys despite being named in the contingent.

He is one of four players handed maiden call-ups by head coach Kwesi Appiah for the exhibition match.

The rest of Ghana’s 18-man squad are expected by Monday night for the match which will be played in Xian.

  1. Ghanas Son says:

I hate doing this but can the GFA kindly let the good ppl to Ghana know the reason behind sidelining Owusu Abeyie from the squad? That guy is good abd can perform magic at tough times. Do we remember his single effort goal against Cote D’voire in Afcon 2008? I believe he needs needs chemistry with the team.

  2. Aba this time again.why the exclusion of a gud speedstar quincy.i dont tink we would get anywhere wit dis.well i hope he proves me wrong.

  3. Its obvious and clear dat quincy is badly needed in the squad so his xclusion.

  4. MAWUDEKA says:

HI BRO YOU ARE RIGHT QUINCY SHOULD BE HAVE BEING PART PERMANENTLY NOT IN AND OUT

  5. MR boii says:

INDEED I AGREE 100%!! I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS SINCE AFTER THE WORLD CUP! WHYY OOO WHY ISNT HE BEING CALLED UP?!!

  6. bbc says:

I really agree with you guys cos Quincy is such a good pacy player that Ghana is missing and i don’t know what he has done to the current GFA members. This guy is playing act football but GFA will leave him out and chase player who don’t want to play for Ghana. As of Asamoah well done for showing Ghana that the black star made you who you are today. I respect you cos you played for Juventus few days ago and still you were the first to show up in camp.Thank you Asamoah and Ghana will also play for you to do very well in your team. As for Essien,we adviced you to be like Drogba and leave Chelsea but you didn’t listen. Now like you were unused substitute in a common Community shield so where is the future for you at Chelsea. Maybe you are just happy to warm up the bench and pick up you pay cheque.I rest my case and i word to the wise is enough.

  7. Bossman says:

GHANA DON’T NEED QUINCY OWUSU ABEYIE. THE GUY IS VERY INDICIPLINED. HE IS DONE IN THE BLACK STARS FOR GOOD, AND HE KNOWS THAT.

  8. bbc says:

Yes we say he is indciplaned for no reason but we always follow begging Prince Boateng who Germany dropped from their team for the same reason.Hmmmmmm
