Judicial Service Are 'Jokers', They Only Engage In 'Concert' ? NDC Activist

Posted On Monday, 30th April 2012

A member of the Government?s Communications Team has taken a swipe at the judicial service in the country describing them as jokers.

Samuel Nartey George believes the judiciary is engaged in ?some sort of concerts? at the courts and are not dispensing justice as expected.

Endorsing the decision by the Ghana Coalition for the International Criminal Court (GCICC) to engage the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate what it terms the genocidal and ethnic-cleansing pronouncements made by the NPP MP for Assin- North, Kennedy Agyapong, the NDC activist said the decision to drag the NPP firebrand before the ICC is a step in the right direction.

To him, even though the state has filed charges against the NPP MP at the law court, he shares in the concerns by the GCICC that ?there is a conspiracy somewhere to make sure that the people of Ghana do not see true justice? served.

Speaking on Metro TV?s Good Morning Ghana show, he was emphatic that he has no ?confidence” in the “judiciary” and believes that the service “needs a huge overhaul.?

He noted that since the ICC has decided to redefine its mandate by moving away from being a reactive institution to a proactive one and not sitting down for people to commit crimes against humanity before they punish them, same goes for the ruling party.

?They (ICC) are going to try and prevent these crimes from happening so the NDC is not going to sit down and allow the judiciary to run this country into the drain,? he added.
