Journalist assault case against ex Ghana striker Baffour Gyan adjourned
Baffour Gyan and Samuel Anim Addo standing trials against assault charge

The assault case brought against Baffour Gyan and Samuel Anim Addo by Graphic journalist has been adjourned to September 19.

The elder brother of the Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan and his business manager and spokesman Samuel Anim Addo are standing trial over two counts of assault.

The duo have been accused by Daniel Kenu, the regional correspondent of the state-owned Daily Graphic of assault a day before Ghana hosted Uganda in their opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Kumasi.

But the accused persons – Baffour Gyan and Samuel Anim Addo have denied this charge and pleaded not guilty in their maiden appearance at a Kumasi Circuit Court on Monday.

The case was heard on the adjourned date on Friday where the plaintiff, Daniel Kenu failed to make an appearance in court.

After a chamber meeting involving counsel of both sides and the judge, the case was adjourned once more again with the revelation that Daniel Kenu has been given five-days off to rest and to also undergo a psychiatric review during this period.

The case have thus been adjourned to next Friday, September 19.
