Joshua Clottey has urged Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah to look in his direction for a future call up to the national team.

The 34-year-old former IBF Welterweight Champion put in a solid display for the Black Stars select side at this year’s Star Soccer Fiesta at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

His deft touches and silky passes in midfield got many wondering why he chose boxing over football.

But ‘The Hitter’ who has an impressive 36 wins out of 41 fights with his orthodox stance of fighting insists he should be given a look-in by Appiah for a place in the national team.

“The dream of playing for the national team is still alive, as you can see everyone saw what I can do on the field,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“I am telling him (Kwesi Appiah) to call me because I really want to be in the midfield of Black Stars.”

The Black Stars select side won the game which is being used to promote peace ahead of the December 7 elections on penalties.
