Joshua Clottey has urged Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah to look in his direction for a future call up to the national team.
The 34-year-old former IBF Welterweight Champion put in a solid display for the Black Stars select side at this yearââ¬â¢s Star Soccer Fiesta at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
His deft touches and silky passes in midfield got many wondering why he chose boxing over football.
But ââ¬ËThe Hitterââ¬â¢ who has an impressive 36 wins out of 41 fights with his orthodox stance of fighting insists he should be given a look-in by Appiah for a place in the national team.
ââ¬ÅThe dream of playing for the national team is still alive, as you can see everyone saw what I can do on the field,â⬠he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
ââ¬ÅI am telling him (Kwesi Appiah) to call me because I really want to be in the midfield of Black Stars.ââ¬
The Black Stars select side won the game which is being used to promote peace ahead of the December 7 elections on penalties.
