Jo Ayew in action for Marseille in yesterday's Europa League, has rued his side's missed chances
Ghana striker Jordan Ayew has regretted Olympique Marseille’s failure to defeat German side Borussia Mönchengladbach in their Uefa Europa League tie on Thursday.
The Ligue 1 giants threw away a 2-1 lead in stoppage-time to share the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the Stade Velodrome in a Group C contest.
Jordan Ayew steered Marseille into the lead after tearing apart the Germans defence in the 67th minute.
The 21-year-old says Elie Baup’s side should have taken advantage of their dominance in the game.
“We clearly dominated the game from beginning to end and we all share the regret that we couldn’t win the game,” he told OM.net.
The Black Stars attacker believes his hard work is training is gradually paying off.
“Personally I feel I’m being rewarded for my work and I will try to give my best always,” he added.
The problem is the defensive area. OM needs Jonathan Mensah and John Boye.
if the coach had not subbed Jordan off for the midfielder Abdullah, I bet the score would have remained 2:1 or Jordan would have scored a second goal or make it 3:1. the chap has speed, vision and skill. He was causng danger upfront but the coach chose to invite pressure by choosing to defend late into the game.
I guess you are right. The team became weak after Jordan was subbed. Their defense was actually porous too that needs to be fortified as well.
Jordan shd play full time 4 OM. He has improve his play.
