Ghana attacker Jordan Ayew registered his fifth goal of the French Ligue 1 season as he scored the opener for Lorient in their 3-1 win over Metz on Saturday night.

The 22-year-old former Olympique Marseille man raced the host into the lead with a 13th minute brilliant finish at the Stade Yves Allainmat - Le Moustoir.

Lorient were keen to win after slipping to a 3-2 loss at Bordeaux last weekend and Jordan gave them the right impetus when he netted the opener early in the game.

Portuguese starlet Guerreiro and Jeannot were the other scorers for Lorient who have now moved further away from the relegation zone.

The goal marks Jordan's fifth Ligue 1 goal of the season but in all he has scored six times.
