Jonas Amissah wants to remain at Mighty Jets

By Ameenu Shardow

Coach Jonas Amissah will welcome an opportunity to return Mighty Jets to the Premier League.

The Tudu-based club was relegated last Sunday after playing in the Ghanaian top flight for two seasons.

The harm had already been done by the time Amissah returned to the coaching role six months after quitting with the sole aim of escaping the drop – a bid which ultimately proved futile.

He is however looking to be the one to lead the team’s surge back into the premier division within a year.

“It is so painful that we are out of the Premier League so if they (management) feel I should stay to help return the club I will be very delighted,” he told Accra-based Radio XYZ.

“We should be able to come back, one of the things I will insist we do is to maintain the players so that when everybody is around I am sure we will come back within a year.

“We have done it before and I believe the experience gathered playing in the Premier division will be brought to bear to help us return to the Premier League.”
