Experienced Ghana defender John Pantsil will visit the local Black Stars in Cape Town on Friday ahead of their CHAN final against Libya on Saturday.

The veteran right-back wants to embolden the squad to win Ghana’s first seniors’ title sine 1982.

Pantsil, who plays for South African second-tier side Santos, has been impressed with the performance of the team.

The former West Ham and Fulham player is backing technical team and the playing body to win their first CHAN title.

“I have watched them and am impressed with the performance of the team, they fought and tried to win something for mother Ghana, and watching them was a delight,” Pantsil told Sports24gh.com.

“Most of them have not played at the big stage before so when opportunities come like this they will have to grab it and that is what they have done.

“Ghanaians should be proud of them for what they have achieved, the technical team has done well and I will not be surprised if they win the cup.”
