Ghana defender John Pantsil is excited  with the impressive resurgence of national teammate Michael Essien.

The 29-year-old enjoyed his first full game for Real Madrid in their 2-0 win at Rayo Vallecano on Monday night.

Essien, who is on a season-long loan from Chelsea is beginning to find his feet after he was overlooked by manager Roberto Di Mattheo.

The former Lyon man played full throttle in the win at Vallecano and acquitted himself with some decent performances for the Whites and the Hapoel Tel Aviv right back is delighted with the positive mentality of his comrade.

“I am very happy for him. I am really excited that he’s back and playing regularly,” Pantsil said

“This is what weve  all been waiting for. When you’re sitting on the bench, it’s not the same as playing even if it's for few minutes in competitive matches.

“We should continue to pray for him because I have no doubt in my mind that he will get back to his usual best.

“He has a strong willed mentality and that’s positive approach for any serious minded professional.

“I am simply over the moon for my good pal.”

Essien’s return to regular action will be a real boost for the Black Stars ahead of the 2013 African Cup of Nations to be held in South Africa.

Many including veteran trainer JE Sarpong have been pushing for the quick return of the ‘Boison’ to the national team ahead of the crucial return leg qualifier against Malawi next month.
