John Pantsil confident Black Stars will tame Cape Verde on Saturday

John Pantsil says the Black Stars will put Cape Verde to where they belong when the two clash in Saturday's quarter-finals.

The Ghanaians are brimmed with confidence ahead of the tricky tie against the Islanders at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth.

The Black Stars have a superior record against the debutant after winning three and losing just once in their last four meetings.

Coach Lucio Antunes is a very confident man having predicted the Blue Sharks will lift the trophy in their debut appearance.

But the Hapoel Tel Aviv ace admits their opponent will be tough, but believes the Black Stars have depth in quality to put them where they belong.

“We’ve watched three of their games and we also played them during the preparations for the AFCON in a friendly in Portugal,” Pantsil said at Friday’s pre-match conference

“I think they have a strong side, they have good strikers who are very good in the air.

“AFCON is a different ball game. We’re not expecting what we faced during the friendly game.

“Like the coach said we’re ready for everything, every corner, every angle.

“ We are waiting for the coach to bring his tactics for the game and then we’ll deliver.”
