Former Chief Executive Officer of Hearts of Oak Harry Zakkour is urging Ghana defender John Mensah to quit playing football in order to become a ‘businessman’.

The 31-year-old has joined Slovakian club FC Nitra for the remainder of the season in his bid to get back into the Black Stars squad for the World Cup.

Mensah has not played competitive football since leaving French club Stade Rennes at the end of the last European season.

Mensah’s fine professional career had taken a dive due to persistent injuries.

But the former Sunderland loanee has fully recovered after an extensive break away from football in his native Ghana and now could be back enjoying top flight football with his move to Nitra.

Mensah is however being told by Harry Zakkour to quit football and come and settle down in Ghana as a businessman.

“John Mensah? He should become a businessman,” Zakkour said on GTV’s Sunday Night Live show.

“He is growing and must stop where he is and come and join us the businessmen.”

Mensah however remain one of the most popular players and could gatecrash the Black Stars squad for the 2014 World Cup once he proved his form and fitness.
