Ghana's John Boye beats his marker to an arial challenge
By Akyereko Frimpong-Manson
Ghana defender John Boye starred for Stade Rennes in their 2-0 win over Lille which ensured they pulled from the drop in the French Ligue 1 on Friday.
The centre-back lasted the entire regulation time as goals from Julien Feret and Romain Alessandrini helped Frederic Antonetti’s side record just their second win of the campaign.
Boye was booked in the 25th minute for a harsh tackle on Lille’s Nolan Roux.
The 25-year-old marshalled the Rennes defence and helped them protect their lead throughout the game.
Boye is expected to play a crucial role in Ghana’s AFCON second-leg qualifier against Malawi next month.
Keep it up
Arguably GH’s best center-back currently, keep it up Boye.

He’s good quality. Reads the game well. Only thing is he ALWAYS picks up a yellow card.
