John Boye declared fit to play for Rennes on Sunday

Posted On Saturday, 18th August 2012

John Boye has fully recovered for Sunday's Ligue 1 game against Bordeaux

Defender John Boye has been passed fit to play for Rennes in their French Ligue 1 trip to Bordeaux on Sunday.

The 25-year-old has won the battle over a hamstring injury that ruled him out of Ghana’s 1-1 draw with China in an international friendly in Xi’an on Wednesday.

Boye joined Rennes’ training on Wednesday morning and he claims there has been considerable improvement in his health.

“I have made a drastic recovery and will play against Bordeaux on Sunday,” Boye told MTNFootball.com

With Nigeria international defender Onyekachi Apam ruled out for three weeks, Rennes coach Frederic Antonetti will welcome the return of the Ghana centre-back.

He came off the bench to replace Onyekachi after 24 minutes in their 1-0 defeat at hom to Olympique Lyonnais last Sunday.

  1. afrikaba1 says:

Ayew is fit, Opare is fit, and now John Boye is fit, hmmm GFA is too diplomatic with these european teams.

  2. zambians are pigs says:

The Gfa is a toothless bulldog. The players should count themselves very lucky.
Which Ghanaian player will make it in spain 1st 11.
Injury for the black stars, fit for club.
Essien is now a surplus at chelsea and that is what you get with clubs.A little blip, and you are out.
If any of our players have the pedigree of MESSI,XAVI,RONALDO,TEVEX etc,we will never get them to play a single match.
They are all bunch of selfish over-rated players.
Akwasi Appiah should work hard and use the local players as the core of the team.
Those proffessional bench warmers are not reliable.

    • afrikaba1 says:

I like your comment only that the local players once introduced to the Blackstar will get European contracts, become professionals and adopt these injury strategies. The only way is for GFA to have a medical team capable of assessing them.

  3. Ibrahim says:

    Well said guyz!

  4. drazzy says:

why won’t gfa follow up to check on this injured players to see if is true or false,
