Jerome Boateng mocked his Ghanaian brother Kevin-Prince Boateng after the latter won the bragging rights when his side Bayern Munich thrashed Schalke 4-0 in their German Bundesliga clash on Saturday.
Kevin-Prince Boateng, who plays for Schalke, had bragged before the match that they will beat Bayern to silence his brother since their last meeting at the 2010 World Cup where he played for Ghana while Jerome featured for Germany.
But Bayern Munich moved level on points with Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund on Saturday with a 4-0 win over Schalke at the Veltins Arena.
Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mario Mandzukic put Bayern two goals to the good after 22 minutes before Franck Ribery and Claudio Pizarro added further strikes in the second half to extend their unbeaten run in the Bundesliga to 31.
The only thing Kevin won against Jerome was the jersey from Jerome, which they exchanged at half-time.
Jerome mocked Kevin and said: “I must not comfort Kevin. It was a special event to play against each other again after a long time. Schalke will win in the next game and he will be happy again. ”
Both sides enjoyed winning starts to their UEFA Champions League campaigns in midweek and made one change from their European outings, with Schalke bringing in Jermaine Jones in place of Marco Hoger.
