Jeffrey Sarpong leaves Real Sociedad

Jeffrey Sarpong has left Real Sociedad

Dutch-born Ghanaian midfielder Jeffrey Sarpong has left Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad after agreeing to terminate his contract. 

The 24-year-old moved to the Estadio Municipal de Anoeta from Ajax Amsterdam two seasons ago but failed to shine on his debut season as Uruguayan international Martin Lasarte beat him to the regular slot.

Sarpong was farmed out to Eredivisie side NAC Breda on loan and also joined struggling Spanish Segunda side Hercules at the beginning of the 2012/13 season but struggled with injury.

Sarpong scored once in 19 appearances for Sociedad.
