Richmond Boakye-Yiadom in action for Serie B side Sassuolo
Italian giants Juventus have reached a deal to sign Ghana striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom, MTNFootball.com can exclusively reveal.
The 18-year-old, who plays for Genoa, will move to the Serie A champions after a transfer fee of US$5m was agreed on Thursday.
The fee is the amount Juventus will pay for 50% of Boakye’s transfer rights.
The deal is subject to a medical by the Ghana youth international before it is ratified by next week.
Boakye-Yiadom is owned by Genoa but spent last season on loan at Serie B side Sassuolo where he hugely impressed.
He scored nine goals to help the club advance to the semi-final of the promotional play-offs.
Boakye-Yiadom has emerged as one of the most sought-after youngsters in Italy after netting 12 goals in all competitions last season.
Juventus coach Antonio Conte wants to make the prolific goal poacher part of his future team.
He will become the second Ghanaian to join the club this season after Kwadwo Asamoah completed his switch to the Italian side this week.
Boakye will be the third Ghanaian to play for the club after Stephen Appiah featured for the Turin giants in the early 2000s.
Boakye-Yiadom moved to Italy in 2009 after agreeing a six-year deal with Genoa from then lower division Ghanaian side Bechem United.
