Two irate Hearts supporters are being sought after by the police in Accra after they attempted to attack Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi following their 1-0 defeat to Djoliba in the reverse fixture of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.

Nyantakyi was at the stadium to support the Phobians in their second-leg match at the Accra Sports Stadium and after the match the two known fans attempted the attack.

They claim the Ghana FA has been against Hearts of Oak by not calling their players into the senior national team and also frustrated in the match again the Malians because the Premier League Board turned down an appeal to postpone the match against AshGold in midweek.

However other Hearts fans present at the scene intervened to prevent the physical attack but the police are looking for the assailants.

The angry fans vented their frustration on the Ghanaian FA leader after seeing their team put up a sub-standard performance against the Malian side in front of their home fans.

They claimed the refusal to grant the club’s request for a Premier League postponement against Ashantigold on Wednesday fatigued their players.

The Premier League Board, which is an independent arm of the FA, refused the late request from the Phobians – a scenario which seems to have angered the supporters after their side struggled for stamina and steam against Djoliba.

The irate fans verbally abused the FA boss with others attempting to physically attack him at the Accra sports stadium with claims he masterminded the decision to have their request turned down.

Hearts still progressed to the final qualifying round despite the defeat after recording a precious 2-1 win in Bamako two weeks ago.

Despite these claims by Hearts, the GFA gave then $30,000 to help them prepare for their continental competition.
