Inter Milan's Ghanaian youngster Alfred Duncan missed last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Genoa at the San Siro due to injury.
After an impressive full debut in the win over Hellas Verona in the Coppa Italia in midweek, it was expected he would be handed game time
But he was excluded from the squad after suffering a strained calf during the Cup match.
Duncan will be on the sidelined for weeks but will be ready for the league returns on 5 January.
The 19-year-old has shown a lot of promise this season and has been linked with loan moves to some Serie B sides.
