Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom is determined to win a regular place in the Bastia team haven made his Ligue 1 debut over the weekend.
The 23-year-old made his first start in the Blues’ 1-0 defeat at Bordeaux on Sunday.
Inkoom lasted 53 minutes after which he was replaced by Christophe Vincent.
The on-loan FC Dnipro player who hopes to have ended his torrid spell of virtual inactivity in Ukraine is now looking to make a push for a regular first team place at Bastia.
“The moment I was named in the squad I knew I was going to play and the coach confirmed it to me and gave me the assurance that he had seen enough of me in training to start me in the game,” the ex Asante Kotoko right-back told the 90 Minutes newspaper.
“I did my best even though it was a difficult game as I had to track back all the time to support the right back.
“I’ll continue to work hard and impress the coach and try to get more playing time.
“I’m happy here and hopefully I can help the team do well.”
Inkoom joined the French outfit in January on-loan from FC Dnipro where he was completely frozen out by manager Juande Ramos.
