Injured Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah refused to travel to Ghana for holidays as he bids to fasten his recovery.

Asamoah has been missing in action for Italian champions Juventus after undergoing a knee surgery late last month.

The 26-year-old was given an all clear to join his family for the Christmas but declined.

The Ghana international decided to stay with the medics at Juventus in a bid to speeding up his recovery.

“He hasn’t been home for Christmas and it doesn’t look like he will be coming home for the New Year,” a close pal to the player told Ghana’s number one site GHANASoccernet.com.

“He wants to get over the injury as soon as possible and has decided to remain in Italy instead of coming home.”

Asamoah is expected to be back in training in February 2015.
