Injured Asante Kotoko defender Abeiku Ainooson says he is making progress in the treatment room.

The tough tackling defender picked up an injury in Kotoko 2-0 thumping of rivals Hearts of Oak some few ago.

Fears were that the former New Edubiase United player was set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines but Ainooson says he could start ball work as early as next week.

"I am really getting better by the passing day," Abeiku told GHANASoccernet.com

"I am hoping to getting back to ball work by next week and then we take it from there."

The 22-year-old was adjudged the best player in last season’s MTN FA Cup and also the best defender in the Ghana Premier League.
